The Adventure Begins...
Part One

[Takato yawned and turned over, pulling the blanket up over his head.]

TAKATO'S MOTHER: Takato! Time to get up!
TAKATO: *groan*
TAKATO'S MOTHER: Takato!

[She opens the bedroom door.]

TAKATO'S MOTHER: TAKATO!!

[He jerks up, causing him to fall of the bed.]

TAKATO'S MOTHER: Good, you're up. Breakfast is on the table.
TAKATO: Great, mom.
TAKATO'S MOTHER: Hurry, or you'll be late for school!

[She closes the door.]

TAKATO: *yawn* Another week of school. I wish there was some crisis in the Digital World, then I wouldn't have to go to school.

[He glances over at his desk where his goggles and digivice lay.]

TAKATO: Oh, Guilmon. I miss you.

[In the Digital World, Guilmon swallowed a piece of bread, then turned the empty bag over.]

GUILMON: Oh, bread all gone.
TERRIERMON: Well, if you didn't eat so fast, you'd still have some.
LOPMON: The Tamers will be visiting next week. Takato said he'd bring some more bread with him.
GUILMON: But I'm hungry now.

[Renamon suddenly appears.]

TERRIERMON: Whoa! Renamon, you should warn us when you're going to appear like that.
RENAMON: My apologizes, but there is something I thought you should know.
LOPMON: Is something wrong?
RENAMON: I sense an unbalance here, but I'm not sure what it is.
TERRIERMON: Should we warn the Tamers?
RENAMON: I'm not sure.
GUILMON: Look at the funny birds.
ALL: Huh?
GUILMON: Up there.

[They all look up to where Guilmon was pointing. Flying through the air was a red insect-like creature, a red hawk, and a winged orange and cream-colored creature. They looked down and started to descend.]

LOPMON: Those aren't birds. They're Digimon.
GUILMON: Do you think they have any bread?

[The three Digimon land on the ground in front of the others.]

HAWK DIGIMON: Are you, by chance, the Tamer Digimon?
TERRIERMON: We're some of them.
ORANGE DIGIMON: We finally found them.
INSECT DIGIMON: We've been searching all over for you.
GUILMON: I know you. You're on Takato's battle cards.
TERRIERMON: And on Henry's TV.
INSECT DIGIMON: We're famous.
ORANGE DIGIMON: I guess news gets around.
RENAMON: Excuse me, but why were you searching for us?
HAWK DIGIMON: Oh, yes. Allow us to introduce ourselves. I am Hawkmon.
INSECT DIGIMON: My name's Tentomon.
ORANGE DIGIMON: And I'm Patamon. There's something happening here in the Digital World that's really bad.
HAWKMON: Our friends and us have gone in search of you Tamer Digimon to ask for your help.
TENTOMON: Our partners are gathering the Tamers so they can all come here to help.
LOPMON: But what is happening?
PATAMON: We're not a hundred percent sure. But what we do know is that a computer program malfunctioned and old Digimon are rising again.
TERRIERMON: Of course we'll help. Lead the way.
HAWKMON: It's not far. This way.

[The seven Digimon head off into the distance.]

[In the Real World, Takato, Henry, and Rika are sitting under a tree eating lunch when two teenagers walk up. One is a boy with orange-blond hair, wearing a white hat, and the other is a girl with short brown hair, carrying a camera.]

BOY: Excuse me, but are you the DigiDestined Tamers?
TAKATO: That's us! I'm Takato and these are my friends Henry and Rika.
BOY: Are the other Tamers here too?
HENRY: Some of them go to school here.
GIRL: That's great. Could you get them all together?
RIKA: What for?
GIRL: Oh, I'm sorry. Of course you'd want to know. The Digital World's in trouble. Something went wrong and our old enemies from the past are returning.
TAKATO: So, you have Digimon, too?
BOY: We're two of the original eight DigiDestined. I'm TK.
GIRL: And I'm Kari.
HENRY: So all those adventures shown on TV are real?
TK: They happened a while ago, but yes.
KARI: They are based on our actual adventured in the Digital World.
RIKA: So, you really fought against Devimon?
HENRY: And Apocalymon?
TAKATO: And MaloMyotismon?
KARI: *giggle* Yes.
TAKATO: You guys are heroes! And you need our help?! That's so cool.
RIKA: Cam down, goggle brain. Let's go get Kenta, Kazu, and Jeri like they asked.
TAKATO: Oh, right.

[Takato and Rika run off. Henry starts to follow them.]

TK: Henry, wait.
HENRY: What is it?
TK: We'll need you to get your younger sister.
HENRY: Suzie? But it's too dangerous for her. She's just a little kid.
KARI: I know how you feel. My older brother, Tai, always wanted to protect me. He's still over-protected. When first came to the Digital World, Tai wouldn't let me help in the big fights and had one of the other kids protect me while he and Agumon faced the enemy.
TK: The same thing with my older brother, Matt. He felt that he had to protect me from everything, even though I did manage to take care of myself. The point is, though, that we have to fight for what's right/ No matter how small or young any of us are, we're the only ones who can stop these evil Digimon.
KARI: You're sister's a DigiDestined. It's her destiny as well as yours.
HENRY: I know you're right.
TK: We all look out for one another. Nobody gets left behind.
HENRY: Okay, I'll call her daycare to tell them I'm picking her up.
TK: Here, you can borrow my cellphone.

[TK hands Henry his cellphone. Henry steps away as Takato and Rika return with Kazu, Kenta, and Jeri]

TAKATO: We're all here.
KAZU: Wow, the legendary DigiDestined! It's such an honor to meet you!
TK: I don't think we're that famous!
KENTA: Of course you are!
KARI: You're exaggerating!

[Henry hands the cellphone back to TK.]

HENRY: She'll be ready for me to pick up.
TK: Thank you.
KAZU: But you have the Digimon Angemon and Angewomon! They are so cool!
RIKA: That's enough, Kazu. This is important.
KENTA: Yeah, we have to save the Digital World!
JERI: They need our help.

[TK's cell phone rings.]

TK: Hello? Oh, hi, Izzy.
KAZU: *whisper* The brainiac Izzy! Wow!
RIKA: *mutter* That's something you'll never be.
TK: All right. Thanks.

[He puts the cellphone back in his pocket.]

TK: Izzy and Cody have picked up Ryo and Michael and Mimi have also arrived.
RIKA: Ryo? We don't need him.
KAZU: Oh, did you two have a lover's squabble?
RIKA: Can it, lame brain, or I'll make you eat your socks!
ALL: EW!!
TAKATO: That's gross! You've never seen Kazu's socks.
KENTA: And trust us, you don't want to.
TK: Okay, let's go. I borrowed by dad's van so we'll all fit. We just have to pick up Suzie and we'll head for the campground.

[That night, Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, Cody, Ryo, and Michael were sitting around a campfire at the campsite where the DigiGate was located.]

TAI: They should be here soon.
JOE: The sooner we get to the Digital World, the sooner we can get back. I can't afford to miss much school.

[Mimi squeezes Joe's arm.]

MIMI: Think about it as a well-deserved vacation.
MATT: You won't have to worry about school of we lose the battle for the digital World. Those monsters won't think twice about taking over Earth as well.

[The glare from headlights illuminates the group as a van pulls out. TK jumps out of the driver's seat as Kari gets our of the passenger side. The Tamers climb out of the side door.]

TK: We're here.
IZZY: Great, you made it.
CODY: Now who we all have to wait for are Davis, Ken, and Yolei.
MICHAEL: Knowing Davis, we could be here for awhile.
TAKATO: Wow, this is so exciting, getting to work with the original DigiDestined.
TAI: I guess you're the leader of the Tamers. Every leader wouldn't be complete without his goggles.
RYO: Hi, Rika. It's good to see you again.
RIKA: Are you being serious or funny?
JERI: What are we up against in the Digital World?
IZZY: I'm glad you asked.

[He opens an orange laptop as everyone gathers around.]

IZZY: I've found four areas where the old enemies have appeared. We're going to have to split up into groups to defeat them. We can't risk one becoming too powerful. I've put together the groups using scientific data. Tai, Ken, Yolei, Michael, and Kazu will head to Freezeland.
TAI: Oh, goody.
SORA: Don't worry. We have extra coats and boots in the car.
IZZY: Matt, Sora, Ryo, Rika, and Davis will be in the desert.
RIKA: Can I change groups?

[Suddenly, the group sees headlights coming up the road. The car stops and Davis gets out from behind the wheel. Ken and Yolei emerge from the backseat.]

MATT: There you guys are. What took you so long?
KEN: Davis was polishing up his goggles for an hour.
YOLEI: Then once we got on the road, he made several wrong turns.
DAVIS: Well, no one likes a backseat driver! With all your yelling couldn't concentrate. Besides, I got us here, didn't I?
MIMI: Calm down. The point is, we're all here together.
JOE: Mimi's right. This is about the fate of the Digital World and even maybe the Real World.
MATT: That's what said a moment ago. Now, you sound ready for this.
KAZU: This is the original campsite where all these adventures started?!
KENTA: Kazu, quiet! We have to pay attention.
IZZY: Now, as I was saying. Ken and Yolei?
KEN & YOLEI: Yeah?
IZZY: You'll be partners up with Tai, Michael, and Kazu.
KEN: Okay.
IZZY: Davis, you'll be with Matt, Sora, Ryo, and Rika.
DAVIS: Fine with me.
IZZY: Joe, Mimi, Cody, Kenta, and Jeri will be stationed on the mountains. And TK, Kari, Takato, Henry, Suzie, and I will be in the forests.
TK: Looks like we're partners, Kari.
KARI: Wouldn't have it any other way.
JERI: Do we know which Digimon we'll be up against?
IZZY: I'm sorry. I couldn't find that out.
SUZIE: I get to see Lopmon and Terriermon again!
HENRY: Now, Suzie, I want you to stay with the group.
SUZIE: Okay, Hendwi.
TAI: Well, if that's all, let's get going!
DAVIS: Time to do what we all do best!
TAKATO: Yeah! No one can beat us!
YOLEI: Are their goggles on too tight?
ALL: *laugh*
RYO: I'm ready. Let's do it.
RIKA: Can't wait to be the hero?
RYO: Have to impress you somehow, don't I?
IZZY: Your Digimon will meet you in the assigned areas. Each group will have to open a DigiPort to meet up with them. Good luck, everyone.
DAVIS: All right! DigiPort, open!

[In a flash of light, Davis, Matt, Sora, Rika, and Ryo disappear.]

YOLEI: DigiPort, open!

[Yolei, Ken, Tai, Kazu, and Michael disappear.]

CODY: DigiPort, open!

[Cody, Joe, Mimi, Jeri, and Kenta disappear.]

IZZY: I'm just going to move my laptop to the van so if anyone comes along, they won't disturb it.
TAKATO: But, wait, what about our families? We don't know how long we'll be gone.
IZZY: I took the liberty of e-mailing your friend Yamaki. I asked him to let your parents know where you'll be.

[In his office, Yamaki opens up his e-mail folder.]

YAMAKI: Let's see here. What junk mail have I received today. 'Lose weight easily.' Delete. 'Earn millions in just three easy steps.' Delete. Delete. Delete. 'The world is ending.' Delete. 'Trouble in the Digital World.' De-- Hold it. What's this? 'To, Mr. Yamaki, There is major trouble in the Digital World and my friends and I, the original DigiDestined, have recruited the Tamers to help us. We have just left for the Digital World and we don't know how long we'll be. Could you please let the parents of Takato, Henry and Suzie, Jeri, Kenta, Kazu, Rika, and Ryo where they are. Thank you. -Izzy Izumi.' What have those kids gotten themselves into this time. Oh, well, I guess I'd better start making phone calls. Hey, Riley, could you being me the phone book?

[Back at the campsite...]

HENRY: You've thought of everything.

[Five of them crowd into the van as Izzy straps on his trusty yellow laptop and puts out the fire before joining them.]

TK: Ready?
TAKATO: Let's go!
KARI: DigiPort, open!

AND SO, THE ADVENTURE BEGINS...
